The original and Rare 60's album of the
MARY BUTTERWORTH GROUP
Guestbook
Man, there were a lot of bands in the 60's and many recorded their music. This is a nice reminder of the times-just the way it was. Of course this will sound dated, but it was GREAT back then. Thanks!

Hey Guys, I remember playing against you all in the Battle of The Bands @ the SG Park. Our bands name was (lol) Intangible Souls. I played a bit with most of you guys over the years. I'm living in Kansas now & still play music whenever I get the time. Hope all is good with you. Good luck to all.

Well, I'm so proud to know that my uncle Mike Hunt's album is selling well on the Internet. Mary Butterworth was only about 30 years ahead of it's time - like most good thing that are worth waiting for. I'm currently writing a novel about the Hunt family which chronicles in some small part the success of Mary Butterworth. Gosh, can I get in any legal trouble with this ...? Hope the other band members don't mind being slightly fictionized. Write back to me if you are "with the band." Rick Thomas (Doy Dalton Hunt's grandson)

Hi. I just got my copy of the Mary Butterworth cd.I wish i had the same post office you do mine's somewhat slower. As I told you when I emailed you a few days ago A friend of mine had a copy of this lp on the Custom Fidelity label. I made a cdr copy of it. When I got the cd I found that it was really (!!!) different from that mix. Did you redo the entire version on the new one rather than remaster it? Either way this has to be one of the great lps of all time. It gets played a lot here.

Micheal Alying, I'm Virginia's son, Larry. Remember? I saw your mom, Maryann at Dorthey Daversa's funeral today. I asked her about the Mary Buttterworth album cause you gave me one I think when I was 11? (1968?) Hey, I still can remember that lyric in "Phase II" "I wish that I -- could get you into bed now." I did not know what that meant back them. Hey I think it is a riot now. Shoot, I don't have my Mary Butterworth album anymore. I think my mom threw it away cause of that line. Apperently she knew what it meant! Drop me an email: cycloneracer@earthlink.net I would like to hear from you. - Larry

I just saw "Lost in Translation" on DVD and the music made a lasting impression on me. I squinted my eyes to try to read all the music credits-thought I could make out 'M... Butter.... Group." I feverishly searched the Web until I came across this. I will be tracking your cd down. I'm 41, & wish I were born a decade earlier so i could have lived the music while you & others were making it.

Congratulations guys. I got a call from Dave Hood who told me about your good fortune. Yours has to be one of the most bizarre and well deserved success stories of our time. I'm glad to see someone from our town and era made good. Seeing the pictures brought back a lot of memories especially the one of Marina Palace. Don't know if you remember me we competed is several battle of the bands with you guys in the late 60s you guys always won. Hello friends and fellow band members. Well after a long wait..Butterworth has left it's mark forever in this movie " Lost in Translation". I always felt the group was way better than the album. The band members new it when we recorded it. However, others decided for us that this album had its place in music history. It certainly has found it in a Bill Murray movie. To all those folks who laughed at us as the band... the jokes now on you! Thanks everyone who made this possible.(Now buy the CD) Mike Ayling Brewer
